Paul Brucke, Principal Engineer at Brucke Engineering, is a solar PV system design and engineering expert with 18 years of electrical engineering experience. Prior to moving into the solar industry in 2009, he worked in the semiconductor micro-electronics industry, designing DC power supplies, control circuitry and chip architecture for over 10 years.  In 2009, Paul joined Strata Solar where he built and led the engineering department and designed the first 5 MW utility-scale ground mounted projects that became a model for the North Carolina QF market. Paul joined Black & Veatch in 2013 and managed solar engineering services, consulting with project developers, owners, investors and utilities. Before leaving Black & Veatch, he managed Solar PV Independent Engineering Services and became Manager of Engineering for Renewable Energy. Paul joined Cypress Creek Renewables in 2014 to build and lead the engineering capabilities and helped Cypress bring over 300 MW of utility-scale projects online in 2015.

Paul is a licensed Professional Engineer in several states, a NABCEP certified solar installation professional, a Senior Member of IEEE and the IEEE 1547 Revision Working Group.

  • Over 30 GW of solar PV projects in development, construction or operation (over 800 projects) in 27 US states, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and Japan
  • Interconnection support for over 20 GW of projects in development, construction or operation
  • Residential and commercial rooftops, utility-scale ground mount, fixed tilt and trackers
  • Project sizes from below 1 MW to greater than 100 MW
